I provide individual and/or small group weekly or biweekly supervision sessions. Meeting the requirements involves a minimum of a two year supervision commitment to obtain your Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the State of Michigan.
It is my goal to help you grow in your clinical & professional skills. I offer support & a space where you can explore client concerns, transference/counter transference, theory, interventions, self-care, & develop thorough treatment plans.
Through supervision you will be able to gain new perspectives on clients, problem solve, & explore man traditional & experiential clinical methods of counseling.
An Overview of LLPC (Limited License Professional Counselor) supervision requirements
You may not start counting hours toward your LLPC supervision until the date that your limited license is issued - supervision will start after that date.
At least 3,000 hours of supervised practice must be acquired over not less than a two year period.
Please note that although the Michigan Public Health Code and the Administrative Rules of the Michigan Board of Counseling do not specify how many hours must be direct or indirect, I require supervisees to complete 1,200 hours of direct counseling services and 1,800 hours of indirect counseling services( total of 3,000 hours). This ratio is aligned with pre-graduate internship requirements set forth by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs (CACREP).
At least 100 hours of supervision must be completed in a face-to-face environment with your supervisor.
Your professional disclosure statement shall identify the certified licensed professional counselor under whose supervision the limited licensed counselor's practice shall be confined.
Your license must remain in good standing throughout your supervision period or the hours you accrued during the lapsed period will not count.
You must continue in supervision from the time that your LLPC license is issued through the time that your LPC license is issued.
